Randall L. “Randy” Walker, 67

Randall L. “Randy” Walker, 67, of Allendale, Illinois, passed away Saturday, August 17, 2019 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 30, 1952 in Wabash County the son of Virgil and Evelyn (Leek) Walker. He married Gloria Grounds on June 9, 1972 and she survives.

Randy worked as a coal miner for forty plus years. He loved his mining job and was a very hard worker. He started first at AMAX mine and then on to other mines in the area. Randy was an outdoorsman. He loved spending time in nature. He enjoyed hunting but his main passion was gardening. He was an avid gardener and often shared his abundant crops. Randy loved his family dearly and his grandchildren held a special place in his heart. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Allendale. Randy will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Randy will always be remembered by his loving wife of forty-seven years, Gloria; sons, Jason Walker of Allendale, IL, Daniel (Jean) Walker of St. Francisville, IL; daughter, Sarah (Jay) McClanahan of Henderson, KY; grandchildren, Luke & Ethan Walker, Graham McClanahan; brothers, Richard (Debbie) Walker, Greg ( Melody) Walker; sisters, Sharon (Ed) Schafer, Judy (Dan) Hunt, Linda Bates, Debbie (Greg) Smith, Brenda (Harry) Hottel; several nieces and nephews.

Randy was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Jim Walker.

In keeping with Randy’s wishes, cremation will take place and no public services will be held.
