Franklin Goldman, 80

Franklin Goldman, 80, of Mt. Carmel, Illinois, passed away peacefully Tuesday, August 13, 2019, at Oakview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

He was born September 11, 1938, in Lawrence County, Illinois, the son of Harry and Ada (Nesler) Goldman who preceded him in death.

Franklin graduated from Mt. Carmel High School and then served four years in the United States Air Force. He was stationed at RAF Croughton near Banbury, England. It was there he fell in love with an English girl, Gillian Clarke. They were married November 18, 1961, in Banbury, England, and began their life together in his hometown of Mt. Carmel. Frank and Jill raised three children together.

He began his career at Snap-On Tools where he was a supervisor in the Forge Department. After 32 years at Snap-On, he retired and spent most of his free time doing carpentry projects and fishing. He was also blessed with three incredible grandchildren. Frank was a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ and was a member of First Baptist Church.

Frank is survived by his wife of 57 years, Gillian; children, Michael Goldman and wife Cassandra, Russell Goldman and wife Julie, and Mandy Leach and husband Gary; grandchildren, Madeline, Andrew and Marissa Goldman; three siblings, Sondra (Glenn) Howell, Ronald Goldman and Dianna (Ray) Wood.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Ada Goldman.

Funeral Services for Frank will be held Saturday, August 17, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Short Funeral Home, 527 N. Mulberry Street, Mt. Carmel, Illinois. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation for Frank will be Friday, August 16, 2019, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Short Funeral Home
