Carolyn Jane Macer, 84, of Mount Carmel, Illinois, passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at her residence at Mesa Lake with her family at her side.  She was born May 31, 1934, in Wabash County, Illinois, the daughter of D. Joseph and Bernadine (Vandever) Horrall.  She married Don Macer on December 24,1954.  Together they have enjoyed sixty-four years of devotion to one another.

Carolyn was employed as a secretary at Mount Carmel Public Utility Company for twenty-three years before retiring.  She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed working in the yard and tending to her flowers.  Her life was centered around the love for her family and her faith.  Carolyn was a lifelong member of the Mount Carmel Church of Christ. She enjoyed helping with the children in Sonshine School.  Carolyn will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her husband, Carolyn is survived by her children; Joe (Rosemary) Macer of Columbia, TN, Susan Johnson, James (Linda) Macer and Sherri Clevenger all of Mount Carmel, IL; twelve grandchildren, Matthew (Melody) Macer, Cassandra (Joshua) Turner, Zebulun (Dara) Macer, Jonathan (Natalie) Macer, Nick (Elicia) Johnson, Chris (Angela) Johnson, Andy Johnson, Jeremiah (Brandi) Macer, Jacob (Amanda) Macer, Jenny (Steve) Perry, Benjamin Macer and Caleb Macer; nineteen treasured great-grandchildren; one sister, Kathryn Eggebrecht of Davenport, FL.; and several nieces and nephews.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents; brother Bobby Horrall; and sister, Betty Armstrong.

Family and friends are invited to gather for a Visitation from 12:00 p.m.- 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 8, 2019 in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 8, 2019 in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home with Joe Macer Officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Cemetery.
