Susan I. Porter, 67, of Mount Carmel, Illinois, passed away on Monday, February 25, 2019 at Oakview Nursing Home and Rehabilitation surrounded by the love of her family.

She was born March 17, 1951 in Princeton, Indiana, the daughter of Carl and Doris (Merriel) Porter.

Susan was a member of the Mount Carmel High School Class of 1969 and a member of the Gospel Kingdom Church. She was a homemaker and enjoyed her hobbies of jewelry making, reading books and writing. Susan enjoyed spending time with friends and her family was most important to her. Susan was the proudest of her three girls. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Susan will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Dana (Jerry) Summers, April (Mattie) Ross; grandchildren, Dacia Roy, Cody Roy, Justin Harms, Jaggar Harms, Alex Obermeyer, Anthony Obermeyer, Summitt Ross, Saylor Ross; five great-grandchildren, Trinity, Mina, Troy, Kallen and Grady.

Susan was preceded in death by her father, Carl Porter; mother and step-father, Doris (Merriell) Renner and Earl Renner; daughter, Jenny Casburn; two brothers, Carl Porter and James Renner.

Family and friends are invited to gather from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Thursday, February 28, 2019 at the Gospel Kingdom Church, 1440 West Third Street, Mount Carmel, Illinois 62863

Funeral Services will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, February 28, 2019 at the Gospel Kingdom Church with Brother John Peach officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Cemetery.
