Evelyn Elberta Frick, 94
Evelyn Elberta Frick, 94, of Mount Carmel, Illinois passed peacefully to meet her Jesus on June 18, 2018 at The Villages at Oak Ridge in Washington, IN. She was born on July 14, 1923 in
Plainfield, IN the daughter of Albert Elsworth and Hazel (Clinton) Dougherty. Evelyn graduated from Mt. Carmel High School. She married Raymond E. Frick on September 7, 1941 and together they enjoyed fifty-eight years of marriage before his passing on January 10, 2000.
She was active as a member of Eastern Star, Household Science Club, and Wabash Co. Women's Farm Bureau; and, served as an election judge for the Democrats of Wabash County. She was very active in her church, First Christian, as a quilter, a member of the board, and a member of the choir. She loved her church Senior Group. Other activities Evelyn enjoyed were square dancing with the Promenader’s, exercise classes, class reunions, eating with friends at the Senior Center and McDonalds. Evelyn will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Evelyn will be remembered by two daughters, Kitty (Jim) Lawson of Washington, IN and Patty (Greg) Urbanski of San Diego, CA; two sons, Dan (Angie) Frick of Kuttawa, KY and Jim (Nancy) Frick of Monticello, IN. She is also survived by one sister, Peggy Seybold of Lakeland, FL; four grandchildren, Jacob (Alisha) Frick of Cincinnati, OH, Chris (Michelle) Frick of Lima, OH, Stephen (Sharon) Frick of Louisville, KY and Hannah (Paul) Prescott of Waterloo, IA; ten great-grandchildren; many loved nieces and nephews.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Adaline Oxley; two brothers, Joe H. Dougherty and Junior Dougherty; and granddaughter, Jennifer Lawson.
Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 25, 2018 at the First Christian Church with Doris Beckerman officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Cemetery.
Family and friends may gather for a Visitation from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m., Sunday, June 24, 2018 in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Evelyn’s memory to the First Christian Church and Mount Carmel Senior Citizens Center. Envelopes will be available at the services or can be mailed to Keepes Funeral Home, 1500 N. Cherry Street, Mount Carmel, IL 62863.
