Melanie Sue Banks, 45

Melanie Sue Banks, 45, of Effingham, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, May 8, 2018 of unexpected surgical complications in Springfield, Illinois, surrounded by her family.

Melanie was born on November 11, 1972, in Ocala, Florida, the daughter of Steve and Katie (Dee) Banks.

She had an Associate’s Degree in Arts and worked at Three-Z-Printing. Melanie enjoyed her work and the many friendships she had with coworkers. She lived an adventurous life. Melanie loved her family and made sure they knew her love for them.

Left to cherish Melanie’s memory are her children, Ethan Kent Adams, Tabbitha Mackenzie Adams and Samantha Rain Adams; her parents, Kathryn (Dee) and Steven Banks; sisters, Page (Banks) Kuhlman and Shelly (Banks) Euell; and long term significant other, Chris Nugent.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Mary Ann (Fanning) and J. Roy Dee, Jr., and, her paternal grandparents, Ruth Maxine (Clark) and Raymond Banks.

A Private Memorial Service will be held at a later date at Sewall’s Point in Stuart, Florida.
