David “Rick” McClane, 66

David “Rick” McClane, 66, of Mount Carmel, passed away Thursday, May 10, 2018 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born April 25, 1952 in Wabash County, Illinois the son of Norman and Virginia (McClellan) McClane. He married Debra Banks on October 20, 1971 and together they have celebrated forty-six and a half years of marriage.

Rick faithfully served his county in the United States Air Force. He was employed by Snap On Tools Corporation for thirty four years working in electrical machine repairs. Rick was a member of the Mount Carmel High School graduating class of 1971 and a member of First General Baptist Church. He enjoyed watching football and was a huge Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Rick was a wonderful family man. He greatly enjoyed trips and picnics with his family. They often spent the day exploring Garden of the Gods in southern Illinois. Rick also enjoyed fishing as a family activity. He had a great sense of humor and his family and friends will always treasure those memories. Rick was very handy with home repairs and remodeling and greatly enjoyed those projects. He was very kind and always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. He will be dearly missed.

Rick will be remembered by his loving wife, Debbie; daughters, Christy (Michael) Wilson, Tiffany Trauger; grandchildren, Micah (Malarie Hargrave), Hannah & Piper Wilson, Ty, Tommy, Trey & Teddy Trauger and their father Chad Trauger; brother, Rodney McClane; sisters, Kay (Jerry) Smith, Ruth (Joe) Smith; mother-in-law, Wilma (Albert) Banks and several nieces and nephews and many lifelong friends.

Rick was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, May 13, 2018 in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Underwood officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Cemetery.

Family and friends may gather for a Visitation from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, May 13, 2018 in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made in Rick’s memory to First General Baptist Church Building Fund. Envelopes with be available at the Funeral Home or may be mailed to Keepes Funeral Home, 1500 North Cherry St., Mt. Carmel, IL 62863.
