Marlene Jones, 85

Marlene Jones, 85, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away on Monday, February 26, 2018 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh Indiana surrounded by her loving family.  She was born October 25, 1932 in Mount Carmel, Illinois the daughter of Gilbert and Florence (Hilgemann) Trusty.  She married Richard Lee Jones on September 27, 1952 in Wabash County, Illinois.  He preceded her in death in 2011 after nearly fifty-nine loving years of marriage.   Marlene always loved life to it's fullest.  She had a love for animals and her precious dog, Daisy Mae kept her very busy.  In addition, she had two special great-great-grand-pups, Stella Rae and Zeus Lee that she loved very much.  Marlene enjoyed taking trips, shopping and yard sales.  Spending a lady’s day out with her daughter, grand—daughter and great-granddaughter were some of the best times and memories for Marlene. She greatly enjoyed cooking and baking for her family, especially around the holidays.  She will be dearly missed by all who loved her.   Marlene will be remembered by her daughter, Donna Jean (Robert) Houchin of Newburgh, Indiana; four grandchildren, Tracie Arthur of Newburgh, Indiana, Gary Lewis Jr. (Meghann Martin) of Evansville, Indiana, Kim (Bill) Kelley of Evansville, Indiana, Christa (Brad) Gish of Henderson, Kentucky; ten great-grandchildren, Halie Deputy, Tyler Deputy, Hunter Lewis, Lindsay Jaebker, Maddie Jaebker, Gillian Kelley, Carley Kelley, Landon Gish, Haylie Givens and Seth Givens; sister, Joan Shakleford; several nieces & nephews and a special friend, Jackie Houchin.   Marlene was preceded in death by her parents; husband Richard Jones and twelve siblings. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, March 1, 2018 in the chapel of Keepes Funeral Home with Pastor Tony Hodgson officiating.   Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Cemetery. Family and friends may gather for a visitation from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Thursday, March 1, 2018 in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home.   Memorial contributions may be made in Marlene’s memory to Keepes Funeral Home to offset funeral expenses.   Keepes Funeral Home is serving the family with the arrangements.  To view Marlene’s tribute wall, leave condolences and purchase flowers for the Jones family, please visit www.KeepesFuneralHome.com.
