Funeral Services were held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, January 29, 2018 in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home to honor the life of Herschel E. Johnson. Pastor Vaughn Courter conducted the service which included opening and closing prayers, scripture, reading of the obituary, eulogy and song. Herschel’s grandchildren, Margaret Campbell, Daniel Johnson, Elizabeth Blair and Luke Johnson sang “Higher Ground”, accompanied by Denise Rogers who served as keyboardist throughout the service. The congregation joined in singing “What a Friend We Have in Jesus”, “Surely Goodness and Mercy” and “Tis So Sweet to Trust in Jesus”. Burial took place in Bethel Cemetery. Pallbearers were Daniel Johnson, Luke Johnson, Tyler Campbell, Anthony Blair, Bill Johnson, Herschel Johnson, Jerry Rigg and Matthew Marriott. Keepes Funeral Home is honored to serve the Johnson family.
