Violating Order Of Protection & Running From Police Land Man In Jail
On 6/15/18 Mt. Carmel Police arrested Vincent A. Sutton, age 52, of Mt. Carmel, for Violation of an Order of Protection and Resisting/Obstructing a Peace Officer. Officers were called to check on a blue Dodge truck driving around the area of 6th & Division Street revving its engine. Officers found Sutton driving around the area in a vehicle as described. Officers knew that Sutton had an Emergency Order of Protection against him protecting a person that resided in this area. Officers attempted to make contact with Sutton which resulted in Sutton running into a nearby residence to avoid law enforcement. Sutton was taken into custody at this time and transported to the Wabash County Jail. Sutton is being held pending the bond setting by a judge.
Also on 6/15/18 Mt. Carmel Police arrested Zachary A. Mathis, age 27, of Mt. Carmel for Disorderly Conduct following an incident in the 1000 block of W 6th Street. Mathis was reportedly yelling profanities at the officers for arresting Vincent Sutton. This caused a neighbor to complain about Mathis disturbing the peace in the area. The neighbor asked Mathis to quiet down but Mathis continued his behavior. The neighbor requested to have Mathis arrested and was allowed to sign a complaint against for his arrest. Mathis was placed under arrest and transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was charged and later released on a $150 cash bond.
